Madeline Milian, Ed.D.
Professor, School of Teacher Instruction

Madeline Milian, Ed.D., specializes in dual-linguistic communication instruction, bilingual special education and second language learning and pedagogy.

She has conducted work on educational activity in Latin America with a focus on Republic of cuba and Mexico, and is the director of the Scholarships for Instruction and Economical Development (SEED) program at UNC, which enables teachers from Central America to come up to the United States to acquire English and advance their teaching didactics skills. Milian has co-authored a wide range of publications on the topics of CLD and special education, including "Latino families of children with severe disabilities: Experiences with school personnel" and "Students with a visual damage in a dual language program: A case study."

Dana Walker, Ph.D.

Dana Walker, Ph.D., is currently researching the potential for evolution of linguistic communication, literacy, voice and empowerment through Youth Radio and Radio Arts.
